Pakistan shuts Afghan refugee camps, deportations spark fears

Afghanistan is bracing for a fresh wave of returned deportees after its eastern neighbour Pakistan ordered the closure of 16 refugee camps. Pakistan is seeking to return more than 1.3-million registered Afghans under a programme which started on September 1st, claiming they’re a threat to security and its economy. But the camp closures have fuelled concerns among humanitarian groups.
